Privacy policy
This is a translation. In case of difference, the French version prevails.
In short
- In the app: no account, no advertising, no analytics, no trackers. On this website: a simple anonymous visit count, with no cookies.
- Everything you enter (profile, readings, meals, history) stays on your phone. We have no access to it.
- The only Internet connections go to Open Food Facts: to look up a product, its photos and alternatives and, if you choose to, to share the entry of an unknown product. They contain no personal or health data.
- You can erase everything at any time from the app.
Who publishes Glyami?
Glyami is a free app published by Abdeljalil NEAMI, independent developer (Neami Labs), in France. For any question: contact@glyami.app. Glyami was called Glycéo until October 2026.
The data you enter in the app
Depending on what you choose to fill in, the app may store:
- your profile: first name, date of birth, height, weight, language, text size and daily load guide (and, if your version offers blood glucose tracking, your situation and your unit of measurement);
- health information you record yourself: weight, waist size, meals, walking days and, if your version offers blood glucose tracking, blood glucose, HbA1c and personal tests;
- your loyalty cards: the name you give them, their code and, if you choose to, their photo;
- your shopping lists and your purchases;
- your saved plates, your answers to the “Did you know?” cards and the products you copy from their label;
- the history of scanned products and your alert preferences (allergies, food choices).
Everything is optional. This data is stored only in your phone's memory. There is no Glyami server: we do not receive it, see it or have any way to access it.
Some of this information is health data, which the law gives special protection. It is processed only on your device, under your sole control.
What goes over the Internet
When you scan a product or search, the app queries Open Food Facts, an open and collaborative food database. The request contains only:
- the barcode or the search term;
- for the “smart swap” (less sugary alternatives): the Open Food Facts category of the product shown and, if your phone is set to one of the supported countries, that country's code (taken from your phone's region setting, not your location);
- the app's name and version, with a contact address, as required by Open Food Facts.
No profile data or readings are sent. As with any connection, your IP address is visible to Open Food Facts servers, which use it according to their own privacy policy. Product photos are loaded from their image servers.
Unknown product. If a product isn't in Open Food Facts, you can copy its label into the app: the entry stays on your phone. If your version offers it and you choose to share it, the app sends Open Food Facts only the product information (barcode, name, brand, nutrition values, ingredients, language of the entry). Nothing about you. This information becomes public under the ODbL licence. With no connection, the upload waits on your phone.
Products you look up are kept on your phone so you can see them again offline.
Meal ideas, shopping lists, loyalty cards and all calculations work without any connection.
Permissions requested
- Camera: to read barcodes and, if you choose to, take a photo of your loyalty card. Codes are read live; the photo of a card stays on your phone. Nothing is sent.
- Notifications: only if your version offers reminders and you turn them on. They are scheduled on your phone, without any server.
You can revoke these permissions at any time in your phone's settings.
When you share something
You can create a PDF report, a share card, a backup file, an invitation message or send a shopping list (as a message, or as a code to scan). They are created on your phone and only leave it if you choose a destination app yourself (messaging, email, storage…), or if you show the code yourself. What you send is then subject to the rules of that app and of your recipient.
If you write to us from “An idea, an issue?”, the message leaves from your own email app: we receive your email address, your message and one technical line (app version, phone model, system version, language). They are used to answer you and to improve the app.
Phone backup
Glyami asks Android not to include its data in the automatic backup of your Google account. To move to a new phone, use the app's own backup (Settings → My data): you get a file that you keep and restore yourself. The photos of your cards are not in it, and the file is not encrypted: keep it somewhere safe.
What we don't do
- No account or sign-up.
- In the app: no advertising, no analytics, no trackers.
- No third-party data collection or analytics tools in the app.
- No selling, renting or sharing of data.
Retention and deletion
Your data stays on your phone for as long as you keep it. You can edit it, export it or erase everything from Settings → Erase all my data. Uninstalling the app also deletes its data, except files you have exported.
Your rights
The GDPR gives you in particular the rights of access, rectification, erasure and portability. Apart from the emails you write to us, we hold no data about you: you exercise these rights directly in the app (view, edit, export, erase). For any question, write to contact@glyami.app. You may also lodge a complaint with your data protection authority (in France, the CNIL: cnil.fr).
Who the app is for
Glyami is intended for adults. A minor must use it with a responsible adult and with their doctor.
This website

Visit statistics. To know how many people visit the site and where they come from, we use GoatCounter, an open-source tool with no cookies. It counts the page viewed, the site you came from, the language, the browser and device type, and the country derived from your IP address. Your IP address is not stored and no identifier follows you from one visit to the next: we only see totals. If your browser sends a “Do Not Track” or “Global Privacy Control” signal, nothing is counted.
